Batfleck is officially not long for this world. In an interview with the Herald Sun, Ben Affleck confirmed that The Flash will be his last time in the batsuit—and said that filming scenes for The Flash (and doing reshoots for Justice League) “put a really nice finish on my experience with that character.”

Affleck has been grumbling about being done with the DC franchise world for a bit. Last month, he told The Playlist, “I don’t want to do IP movies where you have this sort of built-in audience. That’s something I was interested in and liked, and I just don’t like anymore. I like other people who do it. And if you are going to do it, you should love it. And I love something different.”

But he seems happy with how he’s leaving the Bat, at any rate: “I have never said this—this is hot off the presses—but maybe my favourite scenes in terms of Batman and the interpretation of Batman that I have done, were in the Flash movie,” he told the Herald Sun.

He continued, “I hope they maintain the integrity of what we did because I thought it was great and really interesting—different, but not in a way that is incongruent with the character. Who knows? Maybe they will decide that it doesn’t work, but when I went and did it, it was really fun and really, really satisfying and encouraging and I thought, ‘Wow—I think I have finally figured it out.'”

Filming for The Flash wrapped in October, but it’s still in production, so there’s no telling yet how Affleck’s role will work out in the final cut. He is, of course, only one of the Batmen appearing in the film; Michael Keaton will also return to the batsuit in a story that’s expected to pull from the Flashpoint comics arc. There will probably be multiple Barry Allens (the main one is played by Ezra Miller). There’s definitely a Supergirl (Sasha Calle). There are probably more superpeople we just don’t know about yet. Multiverses for all!

The Flash will race into theaters on November 4th.
